Dan says, “Summertime was a great time to be an adolescent fan of pop music. It was about being outdoors and being with people, driving with the car windows open, hanging out with friends at the Dairy Queen or down by the lake, and things that required cranking the tunes up nice and loud, giving these summertime songs a special, visceral impact — amplified in the sea of adolescent hormones. The smell of dark tanning lotion and freshly baled hay, long summer nights and catchy singable summertime tunes, they’re all bundled up so tight together in my mind that any one of them can transport me back in an instant.”
Yes, after a long winter, we’re going to transport you to summer during this magical evening of singing and much fun. All song lyrics will be projected on-screen. All singing styles and abilities and “just listeners” are welcome. In addition, there will be a fast-paced live auction mid-show.
